Representatives of the Macroeconomic Analysis Division of the Republic of Srpska Investment-Development Bank attended a video conference organized for the countries of South-East Europe by the World Bank on 31 January 2008. This was the second session within the field „Systematic Regulatory Reform in the South-East Europe“. A presentation on the subject „Increasing the Competitiveness and Economic Growth in the South-East Europe: Importance of the Systematic Regulatory Reform“was given by Mr. Scott Jacobs with the live broadcast from Washington by the moderator Margo Thomas.
The importance of the regulatory system reform was shown through practical examples in the presentation. Among many system problems, the highest demand for reforms refers to the following issues: complexity and inconsistency of the regulatory systems, lack of flexibility and innovativeness of the system, fast harmonization and similar.
